Country singing sensation Jewel, who is also the wife of "The King of Cowboys," Ty Murray, reportedly escaped serious injury after being involved in an automobile accident Friday morning.
The two-vehicle accident involved Jewel and Erath County Commissioner Jim Pack, who was operating a Harbin Volunteer Fire Department fire/brush truck and responding to a grass fire on US Highway 67.
The accident occurred just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of FM 914 and FM 847.
According to Dub Gillum, spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jewel was transported by ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville, but no injuries were reported.
Gillum said Jewel was taken to the hospital for observation purposes only due to the fact that she is pregnant.
He also said Pack had the fire truck's lights and sirens activated when the collision occurred.
In January, Jewel, 36, and Ty Murray, 41, went public with the announcement that they are expecting their first child. Jewel was reportedly in her second trimester at the time.
The couple owns a more than 2,000 acre ranch off of FM 914.
The investigation into the accident remains ongoing, according to Gillum.
