Special to E-T

The Cross Timbers Business and Professional Women’s Club named De-Lynn Miller as the 2007 Woman of the Year.

De-Lynn is the owner of The Lunch Box and was honored for her dedication to community service, generosity, and willingness to help those in need.

Friends, family, club members, and community leaders gathered to honor the top three nominees Tuesday night.

A crowd of 60 enjoyed the musings of Dr. Jeanelle Barrett, of Tarleton’s English and Languages Department.

After dinner and the introduction of the nominees, 2006 Woman of the Year, Donna DeCross, presented the award to De-Lynn Miller.

Candidates were nominated by both Cross Timbers Business and Professional Women’s Club members as well as individuals throughout the community. They were voted on by professionals in another state so there would be no bias. Judging was based on an individual’s community involvement, volunteer efforts, scope of activity, and overall impact to those around them.

The top three candidates for the award included Kim Reed, Jan Keith, and De-Lynn Miller.
