The Stephenville FFA recently attended and competed at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands were in attendance. Sarah Wolf and Alyssa Spruill competed on Oct. 23 in the AgriScience Fair and were honored as National Champions at the 9th general session of the National Convention. The girls competed in the Environmental Science category Division 3. This year there were more than 58,000 FFA members in attendance at the convention.
Aron Hutchins competed in the National Semi-Finals and was one of the top eight individuals in the Dairy Production Proficiency. Hutchins also served as a Texas FFA voting delegate. He will receive a scholarship for this accomplishment upon graduation.
Brittany Nelms, Kirby Eaves, and Kasey Lettunich received the American Degree at the 81st National FFA Convention. It is the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization and recognizes Nelms, Eaves, and Lettunich demonstrated leadership abilities and outstanding achievements in agriculture business, production, processing and service programs. Less than one in 150 members advance to earn this national degree.
