An Erath County grand jury indicted 16 individuals last week on charges ranging from burglary of a building to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Among those indicted was a Dublin man charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Ray Clarence Rollins, 27, a Dublin native and former Marine reservist who served time in Iraq, was indicted for continuous sexual abuse of a child. If convicted of the first-degree felony offense, Rollins faces a minimum of 25 years in prison.

Following his arrest in late April, Erath County Sheriff Tommy Bryant said the investigation began when a 12-year-old girl made an outcry to a family member alleging that Rollins had assaulted her.

Attempts to reach District Attorney John Terrill were unsuccessful.
