Traveling through the county might be slower than usual this summer while maintenance crews with TxDot work to repair roads. The work will take place on weekdays and some Saturdays and will begin each morning at 7 a.m.

Crews will place fog seals and seal coats on various roads, including U.S. 67, SH 1188, FM 1189, FM 219, FM 2303, FM 2156, SH 6, FM 1702 and FM 2870.

TxDot officials said maintenance work will reduce two-lane roadways to one lane at various locations, including U.S. 67. When maintenance work necessitates closures, a pilot car will lead motorists through the work zone. Motorists can plan their travel by viewing information on the closures on the TxDOT Web site at www.txdot.gov/travel/road_conditions.htm.

Although the impact to the motorists will be minimized as much as possible, motorists can expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
