Special to the E-T

Keep Stephenville Beautiful recently awarded commercial and residential yards with Yard of the Month for October and November. With the general public urged to “nominate their neighbor” for taking pride in their property either online or by mailing in nomination forms, the KSB Yard of the Month committee had another great selection of yards to consider.

The October Residential Yard of the Month was awarded to the landscape of Darren Carpenter and James Kimbel. The Commercial Yard of the Month went to Lost Creek RV Park.

The November Residential Yard of the Month was awarded to both the landscapes of Neal and Sharon Guthrie and Bobby and Sandra Prater. The Commercial Yard of the Month went to Coldwell Banker Preferred Properties and Tanglewood Pharmacy and Medical Supplies.

Keep Stephenville Beautiful is getting ready for a new year of beautification and wants to get the community involved. A membership drive is in the works and projects are in their planning phases.

“We’re thinking Extreme Makeover: Yard Edition!” says board member Courtney Vanden Berge.

KSB will challenge community members to enter their yards into 2011’s Home Landscape Makeover Project.

“This project is designed to allow homeowners to have a little friendly competition while making over their landscape,” says board member Todd Vineyard, who initially brought the idea to the table. “And there will be some sort of grand prize!”
