At today’s meeting of the Middle Trinity Groundwater Conservation District (MTGCD) the board will discuss the possible annexation of other counties into the district. The board and staff of the MTGCD have, over the last several months, held meetings in Eastland, Bosque and other neighboring counties that will soon be required to establish a groundwater conservation plan in their area. Those counties also have the option to join an already established district, such as the MTGCD.
The board will also consider approval for additional water monitoring equipment to be used to better track the status of wells and the groundwater supply.
In addition, consideration will be given, due to the rising cost of gas, to allowing mileage reimbursement for board members who travel from Stephenville or Comanche County to Dublin to attend regular meetings.
Finally, updates will be heard on the ongoing process of updating the district database, fieldwork and the real estate committee.
The permit hearing will begin at 1 p.m. today, immediately followed by the board meeting. The MTGCD meets at the Dublin City Council Chambers at 213 E. Blackjack in Dublin.
