E-T Staff Report September rain registered the sixth month in 2007 with above average rainfall.

During the month, measurable moisture fell on nine dates, according to Dr. Stuart Chilton, Stephenville weather watcher for Channel 8, Dallas.

“Stephenville's total for September was 4.08 inches compared with an average monthly amount of 3.60 inches. Thus, September had a surplus of .48 of an inch. Rain fell on the first five days of the month with the largest amount, 2.04 inches, being noted on Sept. 5, Dr. Chilton said.

The six months in 2007 with above average rainfall were January, March, May, June, August and September.
