A long line of defendants appeared in the 266th Judicial District Court Monday to plead guilty in a string of cases ranging from drug possession to engaging in organized criminal activity.

Lois Smith Hughes, possession of a controlled substance, five years prison and ordered to pay fines and court costs.

Melinda Marie Barney, fraudulent use/possession of identifying information, six months jail and $1,000 fine. Barney pleaded guilty to a second count and was sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine.

Forrest Shay Kelly, possession of marijuana (less than five pounds, more than four ounces), 18 months in jail and ordered to pay $980 in fines.

Joshua Blake Clark, possession of a substance in penalty group 1, 12 months jail and $1,000 fine.

Robert Perez, possession of a substance in penalty group 1, 18 months jail; bail jumping and failure to appear, six years in prison and $1,500 fine.

Clay Kelley Walker, theft ($1,500-$20,000, enhanced), five years prison and $1,000 fine.

Glenda Kay McLean, possession of a controlled substance, 10 years deferred adjudication probation, $1,500 fine.

Kristi Ann Cloud, possession of a controlled substance, five years deferred adjudication probation, $2,000 fine and 300 hours of community service.

Jose Antonio Martinez, forgery, 180 days in county jail.

John William Childress, III, engaging in organized criminal activity, five years prison.

Chad Michael Brown, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance, 10 years prison and a $1,000 fine.
