A three-man crew with the city of Stephenville’s water department was busy at work Thursday morning repairing a water main break near the intersection of Long and Belknap streets. According to Nick Williams, director of public works, the men responded to the scene just before 8 a.m. and worked for about three hours to repair a break in the already sweltering heat. Williams also said their labor-intensive efforts are a typical sight on city streets. The mens’ job will be the focus of the next in the Empire-Tribune’s Dirty Work series, which will continue on Sunday, Aug. 22.
