Baking potatoes is nothing new for the women of First United Methodist Church.

For the past 21 years, the group has banded together to bake hundreds of potatoes they sell as part of an annual fundraiser benefiting area children.

On Tuesday, they’ll do it again.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., those looking for a healthy and hearty lunch can dine in the church’s Fellowship Hall, located at 328 W. Washington, or place an order to go. Delivery order forms are available at the church office or by calling 965-5046. Take out is also available. All take-out and delivery orders will be processed in the Lower Level of the Hutchinson Annex Building.

Proceeds from the event are used to purchase school supply kits for children in Stephenville and Dublin.

“In 2008, we provided kits for 255 local kids,” said Kim Cummings. “The goal this year is to put together school supply kits for more than 300 deserving children.”

Lunch consists of a large “loaded” baked potato, veggies, bread and homemade dessert for only $6.
