Tarleton State (9-1, 4-1) can claim outright possession of the Lone Star Conference and South Division football championships tonight, but to do so the Texans must conquer the tall order of defeating West Texas A&M at Tarleton Memorial Stadium.

WT ate up more than six minutes and scored before the game but Tarleton came back with a quick two-minute TD drive to answer. The tie was short-lived, however, as the Buffaloes just took the lead on a 92-yard scoring pass.

Tarleton tied it up late in the second, but a muffed punt by Devin Guinn was recovered by WT with 13:00 left in the third, and Keithon Flemming scored a Buff TD on a one-yard run moments later.
