A man who went on a hot-check writing spree in April was one of 26 people indicted by an Erath County Grand Jury last week.

Jonathan O’Neal Valentine, 26, was indicted for theft after he was arrested for writing nearly $60,000 in hot checks to two Stephenville businesses. On April 26, authorities allege that Valentine wrote a $31,000 check to Bruner Motors for a 2005 Dodge pickup. Later that same day, he bought a 27-foot RV valued at more than $28,000 from Bayer Motor Company. Neither check was good.
