Four people were injured Thursday when an Eastland Independent School District bus collided with a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser about 8:45 p.m. on Texas State Highway 6, approximately five miles north of Gorman.

The PT Cruiser was traveling south when it hit a deer in the roadway and skidded into the northbound lane of traffic, and was struck by the school bus.

The bus was returning from a basketball game in Hico and was carrying four students. Two 14-year-old passengers and the bus driver, Benito Louisa Soto, 32, sustained minor injuries and were taken to Eastland Hospital where they were treated and released. The other two passengers were not injured, according to an accident report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The driver of the PT Cruiser, Caitlyn Leann Crain, 18, was transported by helicopter to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene and her condition is unknown. The accident is under investigation.
