Jeremiah James, 3, and his sisters, Abigail, 5, and Elizabeth, 7, jumped at the opportunity to try out Central Elementary’s new playground equipment alongside Seth Gilley, 4, who will begin his education at the campus at the beginning of the 2011-12 school year. The equipment was made possible by efforts of Project S.M.I.L.E. (Stimulating Minds in Life Everyday) and federal funding. Campaign organizers hope to see similar equipment, which will allow disabled students and their classmates, installed at Chamberlin Elementary in the next few years.
