Bobby Jones Hill, 68, of Stephenville, died Thursday after a head-on collision on US Highway 281 near Tejas Golf Course.
An accident report filed by the Stephenville Police Department said Hill was traveling north in the 300 block of Morgan Mill Road shortly after 5 p.m. on June 11 in a 1975 white and gold Chevrolet Silverado pick-up. Witnesses reported that Hill attempted to turn left when he collided with Edward Dee Reed, 82, of Stephenville, traveling south in a 1991 red Dodge Ram 150 pick-up.
The accident report shows the impact sent Reedís truck approximately 130 feet down the side of the road.
Both Reed and Hill were transported by ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Stephenville.
Hill was pronounced dead at the hospital and an autopsy has been ordered as part of the investigation.
The report shows Reed, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered an incapacitating injury. It was unknown if Hill was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
