The Stephenville City Council will meet tonight for their monthly committee meetings to discuss a variety of topics relevant to the councilís nominations, planning and development and finance committees.
Items on the agenda include appointments to a number of citizensí boards and commissions, which will be the focus of the Nomination Committee discussion.
The council recently called for residents to step up and serve on the cityís citizen advisory boards, including the Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z), board of adjustment, building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, dangerous building abatement, airport advisory, parks and recreation advisory, senior citizen advisory, western heritage and library advisory boards as well as the water conservation committee. Current terms are set to expire on Dec. 31. Applicants had until last week to submit their names for consideration.
The Planning and Development Committee will discuss streets on and around the campus of Tarleton State University and also review and discuss the preliminary design of a new fire station for the city.
Finally, the Finance Committee will hold an annual review of the cityís financial and investment policies, renewal of contract with MuniServices and also discuss the cityís bond rating.
