The Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council is currently featuring a hometown exhibit.
Through Oct. 28, the gallery is displaying an exhibit entitled COLLAGE: Celebrating the Local Artist at River North Gallery. The talents of Teresa Burdick, Opal Black, Jan Sims, Kerri Fleming, Deb Lincoln, Brian Drake, Ralph Drake, Ruth Marsh, Mary Waters, Kathy Tate and Leslie Miller are featured.
Works on display include turned wood, an artistic form of woodworking in which the artist uses a lathe to create the masterpiece. The wood is moved by a lathe while stationary tools are used to cut and shape the design.
Other medium on display will include oil landscapes, abstract, porcelain, photography, bronzed sculptures, pastels and water colors.
The public is invited to attend an artist party tonight for an opportunity to mingle with the artists and gain their perspectives on their work or simply celebrate the beauty of their talents. The party will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the gallery at 204 River North Blvd. in Stephenville.
During the party, Kathy Tate will deliver informal mini-talks on what to look for when buying art.
