A second person has died following a two-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday morning at the intersection of Lingleville Road (FM 8) and College Farm Road.
According to Police Chief Roy Halsell, Stephenville resident Ouida Hise, 79, died during surgery after she was taken via air ambulance to a Fort Worth hospital.
Hise was the driver of an eastbound Chevrolet Cavalier and failed to yield right of way while attempting to turn left onto College Farm Road from Lingleville Road. Hise’s automobile was struck by a westbound Chevrolet Silverado pulling a flatbed trailer driven by Stephenville resident, James Wilson, 40.
Officer Brandon Boen investigated the scene and said Hise did not allow enough time or space to complete the turn and avoid the collision.
“Basically (Hise) tried to turn left and didn’t have enough time,” Boen said.
The passenger in Hise’s vehicle, James Wilson, 68, also of Stephenville, and no relation to the driver of the Silverado, died at the scene, which occurred just before 11 a.m.
Halsell said the investigation is closed and no citations will be issued.
