Several local governmental offices would like to remind citizens that they will be closed on Friday, March 21 in observance of Good Friday.

The city of Stephenville will continue to provide police, fire and animal control services during the holiday. The local landfill will also remain open, weather permitting. Clark Field will also be open for air traffic, said City Secretary Cindy Stafford.

For emergency water services, residents are advised to call 918-1273.

City offices that will be closed include city hall, Stephenville Parks & Recreation offices, senior citizens’ center and the local cemetery offices.

The Stephenville Public Library will also be closed all day Friday and Saturday.

All city offices will re-open to the public on Monday for regular business hours.

Erath County’s offices and their employees will enjoy a holiday on March 21, except for those at the sheriff’s department. Emergency dispatch will continue to take calls from residents but the department’s administration offices will be closed.

Area residents served by the Stephenville Post Office will receive mail by carrier delivery as usual on Friday. The post office will also be open for walk-in customers during regular business hours, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
