A young mother and cosmetologist died Friday as a result of an automobile accident.
Lipan resident Brandi Lynn (Matthews) Luttrell, 26, was pronounced dead at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville following a single-vehicle accident that occurred on FM 1188 just before 5 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services were held Monday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Luttrell was buried at Hill Cemetery in Parker County.
According to Sgt. Chris Frost with the Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred about 3 miles east of State Highway 108.
The officer on the scene, DPS Cpl. Kenny Bratton, reported that the victim failed to negotiate a curve on the narrow Farm-To-Market road, overcorrected and lost control.
Frost said Luttrell was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from her vehicle.
Frost also said the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
“We obtained blood evidence and results of the test are pending,” Frost said. “We do believe alcohol was involved.”
There was one other individual traveling with Luttrell, who survived the accident. Attempts to determine the condition and identity of that individual were unsuccessful.
