Last year's wildly popular Tales, Trails and Traditions prompted the E-T staff to stick close to a similar theme for this year's edition of Horizons.

And stick close we did.

Tales, Trails and Traditions Part II will come packaged in Sunday's edition of the Empire-Tribune. The annual publication will feature 28 pages of interesting stories, local legends and trailblazers who have made Erath County the great place it is today.

This year's stories were written by several local writers including Cathey Hartmann, Donnie Bryant, Elaine Smith, Sherri Knight, Joyce Whitis and, of course, E-T staff writers Amanda Kimble and Micah Moore.

Stories like the legend of Tarleton's Purple Poo, the history of the Erath County Poor Cemetery and an in-depth look at one of the most sensational crimes in the county's history will have you kicking back a little longer Sunday morning while you enjoy a warm cup of coffee, your hometown newspaper and its most celebrated special section of the year.
