It’s not too late to kick up your heels and enjoy a night of Cajun-style food and live Zydeco music from 5 - 9 p.m. Friday at the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council’s fifth annual Ragin’ Cajun.

Stacy Smith, executive director of CTFAC, said this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

“This is a major fund-raiser for the arts council,” Smith said. “Proceeds from this event allow us to bring arts programming to Stephenville and surrounding communities throughout the year.”

Smith said CTFAC board member Matt Harpole and some of the “finest cooks” in Erath County will prepare the food, while 23 of Stephenville’s finest community leaders will turn into waiters for the evening.

The site for this year’s event has been moved from Melody Mountain Ranch to the National Guard Armory.

Dinner will feature authentic Creole food including shrimp, corn, potatoes, onions, sausage, crawfish and red beans and rice - served by local “celebrity” waiters. Entertainment will be provided by Ponty Bone and The Squeezetones.

Advanced tickets are $20 and $25 at the door. Children 10 and under are $5. Reserved tables are also available by calling 254-965-6190.

Tickets can be purchased at First Financial Bank, Scott’s Flowers, Town & Country Bank, and Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council.
