The Cross Timbers Business and Professional Women’s Club’s (CTBPW) annual Woman of the Year Banquet and awards ceremony is coming up, and with it the deadline for nominations. The CTBPW is seeking nominations from the community for 2007’s Woman of the Year.
Each year, the club hosts the event in the fall, and honors local women who make a difference in the community. This banquet is to honor the top three women who have been nominated by the community and chosen by out-of-town judges.
Once the nominations are gathered, the club sends them to out-of-town judges who narrow down the top three nominees, including the 2007 Woman of the Year.
The applicants are not required to be Erath County residents, but should be in the community regularly, as the judging is based on acts for the local communities. The CTBPW is looking for nominations of women who live and/or work in Erath County. Nominees are judged on categories including community involvement, career achievements, awards of commendations received and specific reasons nominated. What the judges focus on, and what community members nominating should keep in mind, is what the nominee has done for the community in the past year; and therefore, should focus on as much current information as possible. The deadline to turn in nominations is Tuesday, Sept. 4. Nomination forms and all nomination information can be acquired by contacting Gina McEachran at 254-552-2330 or 254-592-5818.
This year’s top three nominees will be honored at the Woman of the Year Banquet, which will be held Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Travis Room at Tarleton State University. The winner of Woman of the Year will be announced at this banquet.
To attend the banquet, and for all reservation information, contact McEachran. The deadline for banquet reservations is Friday, Oct. 12.
