Representatives of six area non-profit organizations competed in the second annual Bruner Motors Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest to raise money for their group.
Israel Perez with Cross Timbers Pregnancy Care Center, Brady Pendleton with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Jeff "Chili" Alexander with Erath County United Way, Martin Lucero with Cross Timbers Family Services, Jason Rice with Foster's Home for Children and Joseph Gaglione with Project HOPE all competed to win the top prize.
Each organization received $100 for having a representative compete in the pie eating contest. The contestant who ate their pie first received an additional $400 prize.
Israel Perez and Joseph Gaglione finished their pie the quickest. The tie was broken by audience cheers and Perez was announced the winner.
"We do the pumpkin pie eating contest as a way to give back to the community," Cindy Miller, a Bruner Motors representative, said.
