Stephenville police arrested a sex offender Tuesday for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Clint Bradley Dalton, 33, was arrested while at work in Fort Worth, according to Detective Sergeant Russell Ford.

Ford said he and a sergeant with the DPS special crimes unit launched an investigation into Dalton’s background after receiving a tip that a registered sex offender was living in Stephenville.

The investigation showed that Dalton had been living at a residence located at 1550 West Long Street for a little more than a year, but has been working in Fort Worth.

“Our investigation showed the suspect was registered in Fort Worth, but was, in fact, living in Stephenville,” Ford said.

Ford said Dalton had utilities in his name as well as a rental agreement that proved he was living in Stephenville.

Ford said Dalton has “a criminal history” and that the suspect’s sex offender conviction stems from charges in New Mexico, though it was unclear exactly what those charges were.

Dalton was arrested and charged with failing to comply with sex offender registration and was booked into the Tarrant County Jail. His bond was set at $5,000.
