The Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council will host a wine tasting and silent auction from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at City Hall at City Limits, featuring wines from Texas and California.

"It is a social event to kick off the holiday season," said CTFAC Executive Director Julie Crouch.

CTFAC board member and owner of The Agave Grill Cynthia Stephens has selected the wines for the evening and Stuart Veldhuizen has paired each wine with cheeses from the Veldhuizen Family Farm where he and his family make artisan cheese.

Crouch said the event will bring art and culture together with good food for an enjoyable evening.

The CTFAC hosts several events throughout the year, but this one is different from the rest.

"The board of directors has worked hard to create something we've never done before," Crouch said. "The wine tasting is going to be a treat."

There will also be a silent auction where an array of packages, art,  dinner with the Dottavios in the newly-renovated Trogdon House, high-end electronics, fine jewelry, Waterford crystal, five-course dinners and more will be up for bid.

There are also special favors you can bid on from elected officials like dinner with Mayor Nancy Hunter or having city councilman Russ McDanel revert back to his first job and mow your yard. Also up for bid is the opportunity for Darrell Brown to serenade you with "Amazing Grace" at your next special occasion.

"This will be a great opportunity to taste delicious wines and cheeses, browse the unique auction items, mingle with your friends - and make new ones," Crouch said.

Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members and can be purchased at the door.
