Wake up America!
Over the last few years I have heard people say, "I don't worry about the government and the government doesn't worry about me!"
This is where you are dead wrong. Every law the government passes touches every citizen in one way or another. This attitude is why we are in the crunch we are in today. Our president thinks that he can bypass the checks and balances that are written into the constitution and make up his own rules as he goes along. Example: He appoints 20 or more czars that answer only to him and didn't undergo any kind of checks by congress. The government has slowly been moving away from constitutional government for years. The constitution set up three branches of government for the very reason of checks and balances. This way one branch couldn't gain too much power over the other two branches. The president and congress take the Oath of Office to uphold, defend, and protect the constitution of the United States of America. Too many of our politicians choose to leave out words that offend them or hurts their conscience, such as; "So Help Me God." We the people need to hold their feet to the fire and demand that they obey the oath.
A person with a felony on their record cannot vote, yet we have those in government that have felonies on their record. Does this make sense? I don't think so!
Study the issues and Politicians and go vote Nov. 2. Sign up for your representatives newsletters and read them and be aware of what they are doing behind closed doors. Write them, call them, and let them know that you care, and demand they follow the constitution.
In just the last two years, the Government has put my great-grandchildren in debt of over $30,000 each. Is this what you want? To in-debt your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for life, so a group in Washington can blow and go and live high on the hog at your expense. Congress chose to give themselves a large raise, while denying a cost of living increase for Social Security. They are supposed to be servants of the people, not someone that votes themselves raises every year while unemployment is at or above 10% and in some areas over 15%. They should be freezing all raises and government hiring, until unemployment drops below 5%.If Congress serves one term in office they can retire at that pay for life. Can you do that in the public sector? I don't think so.
