An Erath County grand jury indicted 18 individuals on a variety of charges Wednesday, including two men for aggravated sexual assault of a child and two men for possession of child pornography.

Carter Nathan Jones, 53, of Dublin, was indicted for aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony. District Attorney Jason Cashon said Jones’ alleged victim is under the age of six, but would not comment further on the case. If convicted, Jones faces 25 years to life in prison.

Also indicted for aggravated sexual assault of a child was Aaron Yepez-Jaimes, 27. His alleged victim is under the age of 14. If convicted, he faces five to 99 years or life in prison.

Cashon said a sting operation by the FBI and Texas Ranger Sgt. Danny Briley ended with two Erath County men facing charges of possession of child pornography. Jeffrey Don Kennedy, 33, and William Trent Whitman, 20, were both indicted for the third-degree felony offense.

Cashon said the men are accused of possessing sexually explicit images of children under the age of 18 on their computers.
