The Stephenville Police Department is seeking help in identifying a suspect in an aggravated robbery that occurred about 4 a.m. Friday morning at the intersection of the Northwest Loop and Washington Street.

Police Chief Roy Halsell said 911 dispatch received the call at 4:19 a.m. from the Food Plaza Convenience Store.

The caller reported that a Hispanic male entered the store with a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

The clerk immediately turned over the money and the suspect fled on foot, traveling northbound on the Northwest Loop. At press time, the suspect had not been apprehended.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, five foot eight inches tall, of average build. He wore a goatee style beard and had several days of facial hair growth. He was wearing a tan sweatshirt and a baseball cap and wielded a chrome, small caliber semi-automatic handgun.

Halsell urged anyone with information on the incident to call the Stephenville Police Department at 918-1200.
