Keep Stephenville Beautiful recently began its Yard of the Month program.
With the general public urged to “nominate their neighbor” for taking pride in their property either online or by mailing in nomination forms, the KSB Yard of the Month committee ended up with a slew of yards to judge.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the first month’s turnout,” said board member Metta Collier. “All of the yards nominated were fabulous!”
With the nominations in, the Yard of the Month committee went out and carefully judged the landscapes based on set criteria and picked official winners. The Residential Yard of the Month was awarded to the landscapes of both Marion Cole and Juanda Simmons. The Commercial Yard of the Month went to Clayre Messenger State Farm Insurance.
It’s now time to nominate yards for the month of September. Nominations must be mailed in or submitted online by Aug. 25 to be considered.
“For those people who nominated a yard that might not have won this month, please nominate them again,” said committee member Rachel Rucker.
Forms can be picked up at City Hall, The Chamber of Commerce, Scott’s Flowers, Ace Hardware and Green Maker Nursery or online at keepstephenvillebeautiful.org.
