Three individuals caught “rolling marijuana” at Jaycee Optimist Park over the weekend were arrested and charged with drug possession.
Police were called to the park Friday night after a former police officer allegedly witnessed the trio sitting in a car parked near the playground “rolling marijuana,” Stephenville Police Chief Roy Halsell said.
A three-year-old child was also with the group.
Halsell said when officers arrived at the scene one woman and one man were sitting inside the suspect’s vehicle. A short time later, a second man and the child approached. Officers then called a canine unit to the scene where a “hit” was made on the vehicle. When officers patted the woman down they found two baggies containing an estimated 5.2 grams of methamphetamine and a drug pipe. Officers also found a bag of marijuana lying outside of the car and more marijuana inside, Halsell said.
Patsy Ann Brewer, 24, of Fort Worth, Zachary Christian Knell, 26, and Bryan Bartlett Eason, 36, both of Stephenville, were arrested and taken into custody. The child was released to its mother.
Brewer was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. Her bond was set at $2,500. Knell and Eason were both charged with possession of marijuana under two ounces in a drug free zone. Their bond was set at $750 each.
