Mark your calendars and get ready to listen to some great music because the official lineup for this year’s Summer Nights Concert Series is finally out.

And fans won’t be disappointed.

Drew Wells, director of community services for Stephenville, said this is the eighth year the concerts have taken place - and this year promises to be extra special.

“This year we are bringing in some big names and we’re really excited that Ricky Skaggs is coming back for a second year in a row,” Wells said.

Kicking off the concert series Aug. 4 are “hometown boys,” Deryl Dodd and Larry Joe Taylor. They’ll take the stage at 8 p.m. at the Birdsong Amphitheater in Stephenville City Park. But that’s not all. Several more acts are scheduled to entertain crowds in the weeks following, including:

Aug. 16 - Robert Earl Keen Aug. 24 - Marty Stuart & The Fabulous Superlatives Sept. 6 - The Whites, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder

The Summer Nights Concert Series, sponsored by TexStar Ford, SPARD and Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council, is free to the public.
