A Dublin man was arrested last week for allegedly fondling a 12-year-old child while swimming in the Dublin City swimming pool.
Christopher William Barrett, 20, was arrested by McLennan County authorities last Wednesday and transported back to Erath County by Erath County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday. He is being held in the county jail on a $10,000 bond.
Investigator Jody James with the Dublin Police Department said the alleged assault took place on July 11, when Barrett and a group of juveniles were swimming in Dublin’s public swimming pool.
“While the group was swimming, Barrett had sexual contact with the victim,” James said.
Authorities learned about the case later that night when they responded to an unrelated disturbance call in the victim’s neighborhood.
“When the victim’s mother saw us, she reported the incident,” James said.
Barrett is charged with indecency with a child, a second-degree felony.
