Police TASER usage. Animal control. Registered sex offenders. Restrooms in City Park. An Aquatics Complex. Parking in yards. Airport improvements.

Tonight’s Stephenville City Council “committee work session” agenda is packed with hot-button issues.

The council work session is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Stephenville City Hall, 298 W. Washington St.

The Planning and Development Committee, which includes council members Todd McEvoy, Andrew Johnson, Nancy Hunter and Barry Ratliff, will focus on a proposed restroom in City Park, discussion of an “Aquatics Complex,” regulations regarding parking in yards, and the Airport Hangar Project.

Then the Public Health and Safety Committee, which includes Ratliff, Mark Murphy, Malcolm Cross, and Pat Shelbourne, will tackle some of the council’s most ticklish issues.

That committee is scheduled to discuss the Police Department’s “TASER use policy,” its Animal Control Ordinance and a proposal by Hunter to prohibit registered sex offenders from living within 2,500 feet of places children frequent, such as schools, child care centers, and public parks.
