Saturday, July 14, is the next breakfast date. Ed and Glenda Withers will be cooking up the traditional eggs and bacon, sausage, pancakes, and of course, hot biscuits. Come between 6:30 and 9 a.m. for an enjoyable time to talk and eat with your neighbors. The donations from the breakfast are keeping the Community Center’s bills paid. The breakfast in August will be on the 11th. John and Sandy Sandstrom will be returning with waffles. We are always appreciative of the volunteers that keep this event successful.

Monday, July 16, will be the beginning of Morgan Mill Methodist’s Vacation Bible School at the Community Center. From preschool to sixth grade, everyone is welcome. This year’s fun is centered round a treasure hunt. There will be an archeological dig with daily Discovery Digs into the Bible. Janette Halliday is organizing the event. Give her a call if you have questions. Volunteers are still needed. Time is from 9 until noon, Monday through Thursday.

Morgan Mill Baptist will start their Vacation Bible School August 6 through 10. “Game Day” is the title of the event and it will take place from 6-9 p.m. Get the kids lined up it will almost be time to start school. Everyone is always welcomed in Morgan Mill.

Senior Citizens will be meeting on Thursday, July 19th. The entertainment will be Charlotte Mayall and her group. Joe Bass, William Bramlett, and Jimmy Walker are always a hit when they come to Morgan Mill. Bring your favorite dish and be here at 7p.m. The dates in August for Senior Citizens will be the 2nd and 16th. Gary Gore and his Blue Grass group will perform on the second and the Warden family will be here from Chalk Mountain on the 16th.

Thursday, July 12, will be the Morgan Mill School Board meeting at 7 p.m. It is exciting to see the new windows being installed. The rain has slowed down the progress, but it will be worth the wait. The first day of school is August 27. Superintendent Dean Edwards is expecting about 100 students this year. So far, kindergarten only has six enrolled. If you know of any prospective kindergarteners, let Shirley Couch know. We are happy for Scot Wells getting the coaching job in Bluff Dale. They will be starting a new football program this year. Interviews are being held now in Morgan Mill for our new coach.

Morgan Mill Methodist will be having a fifth Sunday lunch at the Community Center on July 29. Bring a dish and come eat at noon. Everyone is welcome.

Be sure your calendars are marked for the 21st Annual Arts and Crafts Fair at the Tabernacle on September 8. The Morgan Mill Art Association will also be displaying their art in the Community Center. That day is also Saturday Breakfast. Come and spend the day in Morgan Mill. Homemade goodies will be found everywhere.

Milling Around will be taking a short vacation and will return in August. Monthly calendars are always available in the Store. Have a good summer.
