For the first time since the sudden death of school board member Dr. Rob Bashaw, the Stephenville Independent School District board of trustees will meet for their regular board meeting tonight.
The board will present Bashaw’s wife Holly with a plaque in honor of his years of service to the community and school district.
The board will also discuss the options for filling Bashaw’s unexpired school board position.
Meanwhile, there will be closed session for discussion for private consultation with the board’s attorney, discussion of possible board member appointees, and discussions on real property.
Following the closed session, the board will consider a resolution regarding Chief Appraiser Jerry Lee and the severance package offered by the Erath County Central Appraisal District board of directors. SISD follows Erath County, the city of Dublin, Dublin ISD, and the Middle Trinity Groundwater Conservation District in considering the disapproval of the appraisal board’s decision to not renew Lee’s contract and offer him a severance package valued at more than $160,000.
Other items of business will include discussions on upcoming district events and a report on the District Improvement Plan.
The Stephenville ISD board of trustees meets tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the boardroom at the administration building, located at 3655 W. Overhill Drive, across from the high school.
