If you're in the market for a new flat screen television, open those photo albums and start searching for that winning picture.

The Empire-Tribune wants your photos for the newspaper's annual Erath County's Most Photogenic Children calendar contest.

Photos old and new will be accepted, but all photographs entered into the contest must be of children five and younger at the time the photo was taken.

The entry deadline has been extended an additional week - to Friday, Nov. 12. The registration fee is just $10 per entry. Only one photo per child will be accepted and copyrighted or Polaroid pictures are not allowed.

Photos and entry fees must be brought to the E-T office by the entry deadline to be considered.

Submitted photos will run in the Tuesday and Thursday editions to allow readers to make their choices and cast ballots. Votes will be accepted until noon Wednesday, Nov. 24, at a cost of 25 cents per vote.

All votes must be submitted on official Empire-Tribune ballots, which will publish regularly in the newspaper and are also available at the E-T office, located at 590 East South Loop.

The 12 photographs with the most votes will appear in the 2011 calendar and the grand prize winner will be displayed on the calendar's cover. Winners will be revealed in the Christmas edition of the Empire-Tribune.

The grand prize winner will also be awarded a 40-inch flat screen television, courtesy of Wal-Mart SuperCenter.

Proceeds from the contest will benefit Newspapers in Education (NIE), a program that puts local newspapers in classrooms across the country.
