Rain fell on 15 of June’s 30 days, including 13 days considered “measurable,” resident “weather watcher” Stuart Chilton said.

Altogether, rainfall in Stephenville totaled 11.50 inches, a record - as previously reported - for June and was the most rain to fall in a single month since 10.68 inches were recorded in August 1996, Chilton said.

June dates with rain, Chilton said, included:

June 2 - 2.14 inches June 3 — .10 inches June 8 - Trace June 10 - Trace June 14 - 1.01 inches June 15 — .08 inches June 16 — .30 inches July 17 - 1.66 inches June 20 — .61 inches June 25 — .37 inches June 26 - 3.03 inches June 27 — .58 inches June 28 — .97 inches June 29 — .28 inches June 30 — .37 inches

Total ——- 11.50 inches

Total for first six months - 33.53 inches - compared to the normal amount for first six months of 17.40 inches, Chilton said.

“Thus,” Chilton said, “16.13 inches above the normal amount for first half of the year. (The ) first six month rainfall has already exceeded the normal annual amount of 33 inches by 3.53 inch.”

In addition, Chilton said, the first two days in July have produced a trace of rain on each day.
