There has been no change in the condition of Dublin businessman Kenneth McDaniel since suffering a major head injury on May 23.

According to Karen Wright, executive director of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, McDaniel remains in a coma in the intensive care unit of a Fort Worth hospital.

McDaniel, who owns Furniture Depot on Patrick Street, suffered the injury while working alone in his store. He was transported by air to Texas Health Hospital in Fort Worth and has remained there since.

Signs on the door of the Furniture Depot tell well wishers where they can send cards and letters of encouragement to the McDaniels.

Friends of the couple have stepped up to keep their store open for a few hours a week, something Wright says is "typical Dublin."

There is a fund set up for McDaniel at Dublin National Bank.
