The Stephenville High School Choir invites the community to an evening filled with great food and entertainment while helping the program raise money.
“This is an important event for the choir,” said John Tucker, choir director at SHS. “And we hope the public will join us for this festive occasion to celebrate the holidays with the beautiful music provided by the choir students.”
The evening will begin with a meal catered by Chef John Pontasch of the Village Grill at 5:30 p.m. in the Stephenville High School Cafeteria. SHS choir students will provide musical entertainment during the dinner. Pontasch will be serving rotisserie-style chicken, roasted potatoes, potato salad, green beans and corn.
“If you have not enjoyed his food yet, you are in for a real treat,” Tucker said.
About 7:30 p.m., after guests finish the delights of Pontasch’s meal, they will move to the SHS Auditorium to enjoy the musical stylings of the students who will be accompanied by a small chamber orchestra. Tucker said the students have been working hard to prepare their pieces and he believes the orchestra will add a special element to the performance.
“There is a very special feeling performing with an orchestra,” he said. “I know this will provide life-long memories for our students.”
As the meal is ending, an auction of baked goods will begin to assist the students in raising money for the spring trip to San Diego.
Tickets for the evening are $15 per person for the dinner and concert and $5 per person for the concert only. They can be purchased from any choir student or by contacting Tucker at (254) 552-6467 or at email@example.com by Dec. 5.
