The Stephenville City Council will hold a brief meeting Tuesday followed by meetings of three council committees to discuss a range of topics.
Following the city’s recent application for energy efficiency grants, the council will tackle a one item agenda by approving a bid award for the Distributed Renewable Energy Technology Project.
Immediately following the council meeting, the Environmental Management Committee, chaired by council member Russ McDanel, will discuss projects at the landfill, including cell expansion and scales. Other agenda items up for discussion include recycling and issues relevant to the poly-cart collection system.
The Public Works Committee, chaired by Alan Nix, will discuss the city’s 2009-2010 Utility Line Improvement Project, sanitary sewer overflow system and options for new water wells.
The Planning and Development Committee, chaired by Scott Evans, will discuss economic development incentives for Caporal Industries, LLP, and a variance to the code of ordinance for the sale of beer and wine at 1362 West Washington St. A public hearing on the topic was held at last week’s council meeting, but the council had a number of unanswered questions relevant to the convenience store, located across from Tarleton State University. The council voted to table the discussion for further review.
The Planning and Development Committee will also discuss street projects for the coming year.
The meeting will begin Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Training Room at 298 W. Washington.
