The 7th annual Bacon Bash Texas will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, on the main street of Cranfills Gap.

Bacon Bash Texas is a bacon-themed cook-off and festival hosted each year in an effort to raise money for two causes: Niki Warms The Cold and the benefit of children with Type One Diabetes.

This year’s event is projected to have over 50 cook-off teams and will bring 2,500 festival-goers to the Central Texas community. In addition to bragging rights, the winning teams will split a monetary payout of $10,000 with the top team also being featured on the back of 45,000 packages of Pederson’s Natural Farms bacon distributed across the nation.

Ticket holders will enjoy bacon and pork butt samples and will be able to top it all off with selections of craft and domestic beers, Bloody Marys, mixed drink cocktails and Texas wines.

Texas wineries attending include Brennan Vineyards of Comanche, William Chris Vineyards of Hye, Landon Winery of DFW, and Red Wing Dove of Hamilton.

2018 Bacon Bash celebrity judges are to include Theo Weening (Whole Foods’ Global Meat Coordinator), Mike Newton (recent MasterChefcontestant), Mike Micallef (Reata Restaurant Fort Worth), Sarah Hooten (Central Market Cooking School Director), and several others.

Additionally, the event will feature a bacon eating contest, Corn Hole Tournament sponsored by GameGuard, a great lineup of Texas Country music, and a live auction.

Tickets are available online at www.baconbashtexas.comfor $65. There are only 2,500 tickets available, and any leftover online tickets will be sold for $75 at the gate.
