We are living in a mobile world, and now eating on the go has given us more than just the regular fast food options.

Food trucks are growing in popularity. In fact according to Inc. magazine the food truck business has gone from a $650 million dollar industry in 2012 to more than $2.7 billion.

And in Stephenville, the food truck industry is booming as well.

We set out to get the lowdown on some of the area's best food trucks and this is what we found:

Taco Regio is one of Stephenville’s newest food trucks located at 4124 US Hwy. 377: Taco Regio’s specialty is authentic street tacos made of trompo (pork meat) and a Mexican hamburger with beef, trompo and grilled ham. Hours are 7 p.m.-1 a.m. Thursday-Saturday.

Gary Joe’s located at 1755 W. South Loop in the Bull Nettle parking lot: Menu includes hot dogs, hamburgers, sweet potato fries and we love their corn dogs! Hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.

Chino’s Food Hut located at 2095 W. South Loop: Chino’s specializes in smoked meats, seafood and Mexican food. Open from 7:30-11:30p.m. Tuesday-Thursday.

La Esmeralda Food trailer has a variety of breakfast tacos and burritos. They are located at 1165 W. Washington Street. Hours are 6:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday and 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

Casseroles To Go located at 1390 W. Harbin Street. Menu offers four to six types of casseroles and the menu changes weekly. Hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday. They were recently voted Best Food Truck in the E-T's Best of Erath awards.

Taqueria La Morenita located at 1950 W. South Loop. They serve breakfast and lunch tacos and burritos. They specialize in homemade tortillas. Hours are 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Taqueria is cash only.

El Taquito located at 1929 W. Washington Street. Breakfast and lunch options for burritos, tacos and salads. Their biggest seller is the tortas. Hours are 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Saturday. El Taquito is cash only.
