Investigators with the Erath County Sheriff’s Office say they are zeroing in on several “persons of interests” in a string of burglaries that have taken place on County Road 351 over the past several weeks.

“Burglaries have been happening in this area for about three weeks to a month,” said Sgt. Investigator Ben Moore. “This guy is always on foot and steals things like hand tools, an iPad and cash - things he can carry.”

The suspect has targeted businesses, churches and the Stephenville Christian School.

“He has hit the Agape Way Church three times,” Moore said.

Deputies have been on a “focused patrol” of the area and almost caught the suspect on Friday night.

“Deputies David Sutherland and Anais Alday were on routine patrol of the area Friday when they caught him inside a building,” Moore said.

The deputies chased the suspect on foot through a school yard and pasture before the suspect disappeared into a neighborhood.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6-foot tall, between 150-160 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 965-3338.
