An employee of Tarleton State University has reportedly been placed on administrative leave amid allegations that she stole money from the Child Development Center.

Cecilia Jacobs, interim assistant vice president of marketing and communications, confirmed that there is an investigation but would not comment further.

“It is the university’s policy not to discuss personnel issues,” she said.

The E-T is not naming the employee because an arrest has not been made.

An employee of the Child Development Center who asked not to be named said the woman has worked for the university for several years and is accused of pocketing thousands of dollars in cash transactions she received for child care.
