The Department of Fine Arts at Tarleton State University will showcase the work of 16 graduating seniors during the Spring 2018 Senior Exhibition Series, on display at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Gallery from April 9 through May 11.

The group of seniors includes students receiving bachelor’s degrees in studio art along with graduates of the interdisciplinary digital media studies degree program.

“This semester has a large list of graduating seniors, which serves as a testament to the growth of the Art/Digital Media Studies programs into one of the largest areas in the Department of Fine Arts,” said art professor and senior capstone advisor Chris Ireland.

The event gives student-artists an opportunity to mount a professional exhibition of a complete body of work, showcasing a cohesive portfolio in the field of study they intend to focus on upon graduation.

Each senior is required to participate in an oral defense of the work that is open to the public. These usually take place on selected Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the month of April.  Information on specific times will be posted on the official Department of Fine Arts website and on tarletondigital.com
