Leading up to its biggest fundraiser of the year, the 23rd annual Evening Lions Club Upland Bird Extravaganza Sporting Clays Shoot is kicking off at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Lone Star Sporting Clays in Glen Rose to support Erath County youth.
“Be sure to bring the whole family to this well-controlled, super safe event,” said event coordinator Daryl Salyards. “It is almost as much fun to watch and heckle as it is to participate.”
The events will include a Corporate 5 Stand, Open Sporting Clays, Open 5 Stand and Snooker (A.K.A. Make-A-Break).
“To get the day started off right, National Sporting Clays Hall of Famer Mike Lewellen will have custom designed courses prepared for shooters of all skill levels giving everyone — first timers to veterans — big rounds of fun and challenges,” Salyards said.
There will be limited opportunities for re-shoots, $25 for 5 Stand and $75 for Sporting Clay.
“A delicious lunch will be provided for all shooters who come out to support the Erath County youth,” Salyards said. “Many thanks to First Financial Bank, all of our valued sponsors and every individual shooter for making this important event a success.”
To pre-register or for more information call Salyards at 817-905-3213.
“Anybody who wants to come out can just register the day of as well,” said UBE President Blayne Bayley. “So come out and sign up.”
