The weekend is almost here so enjoy these fun area happenings taking place in and around Stephenville. 

1. Foster’s Home Annual Auction

Bid on some great items and help raise funds at the annual Foster’s Home Auction starting at 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday at 17790 N. Graham Street. Auction items will include furniture, tools, exercise equipment, vehicles, boats and fibergrate, and a barbecue lunch will be served. 2. Farmers Market

It’s that time of year again! Browse a variety of locally-grown fruits, vegetables, plants and other homemade items at the Stephenville Farmers Market taking place from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday in the downtown plaza. The Farmers Market will be held the first weekend of every month through October. In case of rain, the market will be moved to the large pavilion at City Park. 3. STEM Day with the Girl Scouts

Bring the kids and have them challenge myths by conducting hands-on experiments at STEM Day with the Girl Scouts of Central Texas taking place from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Mistletoe Hut. The event is open to kids kindergarten-eighth grades and is free to attend.

4. Harbin VFD Fish Fry 

Round up the family and head to the Harbin Volunteer Fire Department at 8135 FM 847 in Dublin for its fourth annual fish fry fundraiser from 4-8 p.m. Saturday. Plates include hush puppies, coleslaw and desserts and will be served up for donations only and raffle tickets for a $1,000 Star Arms gift certificate or firepit from Xtreme Steel will be sold for $2 each.

5. Big Break Team Roping

Catch some roping action at the Big Break Team Roping taking place Saturday and Sunday at Lone Star Arena. Books will open at 8 a.m. and roping will kick off at 10 a.m. Sharp. For more information contact Ben Clements at 432-349-2572.
