Early voting resumed Friday morning at the Erath County Courthouse after power was fully restored and tree limbs and other debris that had fallen during this week’s ice storm were removed.
Erath County Clerk Gwinda Jones made the difficult decision to shut down polls on Thursday.
“The weather was terrible,” she said. “We had tree limbs falling all over the place.”
Jones said 302 voters cast early ballots on Tuesday while Wednesday’s turnout was much slower, with only 79 voting.
Polls will be open until 5 p.m. today, noon-4 p.m. on Sunday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Erath County Courthouse and Dublin Annex.
Election day is Tuesday, March 6.
